Avery, 85, of Denver, Co., a native of Richardsoncounty, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, in the FlorenceNightingale Nursing Home at Denver.Funeral services for Mr. Avery were held Wednesday, Sept. 18 at2 p.m. at the Wherry Chapel in Pawnee City.Pallbearers were Leo Haight and Max Church of DuBois, EllisPoteet and Jay Peckham of Pawnee city and Howard Phillips andDale Goodhart of Humboldt.Burial was in the Humboldt cemetery.Arthur R. Avery, son of the late Phineas and Angeline Avery, wasborn March 22, 1878. He was a native of the Pleasant ViewCommunity north of Humboldt.He was united in marriage to Miss Grace Etta Dennis May 2, 1900,at the home of the bride's parents north of Humboldt. Thecouple lived in Richardson county until 1930 when they moved toPawnee County, where they farmed.Mrs. Avery passed away in 1939. following his wife's death, MrAvery made his home with his children.He was a member of the Methodist Church.Mr. Avery is survived by three sons, Ross of Salem, OR., Kennethof Denver, CO., and Neal of DuBois; two daughters, Mrs. Earnest(Alice) Wanrow of Pawnee City and Mrs. George (Gertrude)Donaldson of Denver, Co., 12 grandchildren and 16great-grandchildren.
