Text: Julius Wanrow herded geese when he was a little boy. When he was older, he herded sheep. While herding sheep, he knitted socks and sold them. His family was very poor.
When he got to this country he worked and saved his money till he had enough to buy horses and a little machinery and rented a farm. In 1884 he bought an 80 acre farm. On that 7 children were born. A few years later he bought an 80 acre across the road. Later he bought 320 acres near Colby, Kansas. After he died, this farm was sold. Eldona Wanrow Gossmar June 29, 1983
