Individual:
Danced with Abraham Lincoln at his inaugural ball. Further, she met President Lincoln in his conservatory April 14, 1865, a few hours before he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth and the President plucked some fruit to give her from a rare tree he had - a lemon tree. She visited on the same day at Ford's Theater, where Lincoln was shot, and met and talked by chance with Booth. Mrs. Moss still kept the little pink satin slippers in which she had danced at Lincoln's second inaugural ball in March, 1865.
